The lovely garden flowers that Ursula Band arranges in her ‘Easter Bouquet’ could be gathered at the Easter season in the stately garden behind her own home – or in gardens of North America as well. These cultivated flowers form a hardy and diverse group and Frau Band has painted them in such precise detail that even the most casual observer cannot help but admire nature’s exquisite handiwork.
Frau Band was born in Meissen, Germany, and after finishing her education, spent four vigorous years training at the prestigious Painting and Drawing School at the Meissen State Porcelain Manufactory. Because she displayed such unusual talent, she was one of a handful of artists chosen to paint the world-famous Meissen china. In 1964, she established her own artistic workshop.
